Heavy rain warning still in force for some areas

A heavy rain warning still in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Kadavu, Lau and the Lomaiviti group.

Fiji Meteorology Director, Ravin Kumar says heavy rain warning has been cancelled to other areas.

“And as the tropical depression moves away from Fiji, it is bringing in some improved weather situation over us. Around 11am it was far to the West of Fiji and keeps on moving further away.”

He adds that flood warning still remain in force for low lying areas in Rakiraki town, downstream of Navolau station, areas adjacent to Wailotua , Nayavu station and downstream of Wainibuka and those areas adjacent to Rewa bridge and downstream of Nausori town.

The flood alert remains in force for the low lying areas in small streams adjacent to downstream of Nabukaluka and Waimanu station.

Meanwhile, flood alert for low lying areas in small streams and Qawa River has been cancelled.
