A heavy rain warning remains in force for the Fiji Group.

The Fiji Met Office says that a trough of low pressure with an embedded low pressure system lies slow moving over the group.

It says that associated cloud and rain with squally thunderstorms, strong and gusty winds are expected to affect the country till later tonight.

There will be periods of rain in Lau and Lomaiviti group and Southern Vanua Levu.

Localized heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
