Heavy rain warning remains in force

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa, Lomaiviti and northern Lau group.

This as a trough of low pressure remains slow moving just to the north of Fiji.

Associated cloud and rain affects the northern parts of Fiji.

The trough is expected to continue moving southwards and affect the rest of the country by later today.

For the rest of Fiji: cloudy periods with some showers.

Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls expected in the afternoon or evening.

Showers expected to increase to rain and possibly become frequent and heavy from today.

Localized heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
