Heavy rain warning in force for some parts of Fiji

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group and is now cancelled for the rest of the Fiji group.

The Fiji Meteorological Services says an active trough of low pressure with cloud and rain affects Fiji. It’s expected to affect the group till early next week.

Expect periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.

For the rest of the group: showers especially in the afternoon or evening.

A flood warning remains in force for low lying areas and small streams adjacent to Nakawaga station and downstream of Bagata station.

This also includes low lying areas and small streams adjacent to and downstream of Tuva station.

A flood alert also remains in force for all low lying areas and small streams for whole of Fiji
