A heavy rain warning remains in force for Yasawa, Mamanuca and Lomaiviti Group, Eastern half and interior of Viti Levu.
A heavy rain alert remains in force for Northern Lau Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.
On the situation, a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over the Fiji Group which is expected to affect the country up until the weekend.
What to expect throughout today for those areas affected, periods of rain, heavy at times and a few thunderstorms, rain becoming more frequent from the afternoon.
For the rest of the Fiji group, occasional rain, isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls, rain becoming frequent from tomorrow.
Localized heavy falls may lead to flash flooding or low flying areas, so please take the necessary precautions if you’re residing in low lying areas or flood prone communities.
