He says the weather office will be closely monitoring the developments of TD 09F in the next few days and will be keeping the public abreast.

“Tropical Depression 09F is expected to drift southwards and as it does it is expected to bring cloud and rain over Fiji and we are expecting that to happen from Thursday. The cloud cover is going to increase over the group especially over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu as well as we are expecting strong gusty winds to spread over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu’.

Heavy rain over most parts of the country is expected to bring localised flooding.

Kumar says periods of rain and strong winds will be the order of the weekend.
