Heavy rain continues in Ba

February 22, 2013 11:50 pm

Rain is easing in parts of a after heavy rain was being experienced since this morning.

However no report of major flooding has been made.

Special Administrator Arun Prasad says this is due to the dredging of Ba River late last year.

“That is the effect of drainage which is giving us some breathing space and we can see the movement of water flow in the Ba river is much faster compared to what was before after 2 floods last year, with this rain this year water flow is faster but still no danger of flooding. However we are still on alert nevertheless we are here to see what can be done to our rate payers, citizens and business partners.”

People of Ba have been advised to take precautions.
