Kumar says in the past 24 hours from 6am yesterday to this morning, most parts of the country received in excess of 100mm of rainfall and more rainfall is forecasted as the trough remains slow moving over the country.

With rainy conditions to continue and the ground being saturated, any more rain will get into the streams and rivers, therefore the chances of flooding remains high in all major catchments.

Furthermore, communities living in the flood and landslide areas are to be alert at all time until the situation improves.
