We want vaccine to reach all: Dr Waqainabete

The Ministry of Health is prepared to securely handle the COVID-19 vaccine from its procurement to the actual vaccination process.
This to ensure the vaccine reaches all parts of the country.
Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says they have completed the training of the staff who will be carrying out the groundwork.
Dr Waqainabete says they will start the registration process to ensure the right people get vaccinated, which will also help the Ministry to keep track of Fijians intending to travel overseas.
“If that person decides to go overseas after we did with the vaccination program then we can say you have the right person coming.”
Dr Waqainabete says the COVID-19 vaccination will come in batches therefore the ministry will categorize the priority groups.
He adds not all Fijians will get vaccinated at once, he adds the vaccination process to some extent will be similar to the measles immunization program.
