A Total Quality Management Project will be piloted in four major sub-divisional hospitals around the country.

With the assistance of the Japanese government through JICA, the project will be implemented to ensure continuous improvement in health services.

The project will be piloted at the CWM Hospital, Nausori Hospital, Sigatoka Hospital and Labasa.

Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says the project will provide training courses for nurses and doctors to maintain quality improvement.

“Two of our nurses from CWM Hospital and Lautoka Hospital attended the JICA training course in 2016 on 5S-Continous Quality Improvement-TQM held in Sri Lanka. The interest continues to grow bigger and stronger as the need for more quality care escalates around Fiji.”

The Health Ministry has welcome such an initiative which will filter down in the Ministry’s work culture and eventually improve health service delivery.
