Recruiting specialists in areas of need is vital to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

This was highlighted by Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete, who also confirmed that a new consultant psychiatrist from Europe will be joining the Ministry.

“We also have a Fijian from Naitasiri starting in May who did his undergraduate and postgraduate education in surgery completely in NZ and he’s coming to join us in May and you know also in that space recruit in areas of need. We will continue to train and that’s important”

Two hundred nurses will be joining the workforce by the end of the month while nineteen new doctors have begun working for the Ministry.
