The visiting hours at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital have been revised due to the current measles outbreak declared in the central division.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services says this is to ensure the safety of the members of the public, the patients who come to the hospital, those who are admitted and staff to have minimal chances for spreading the disease.

The Ministry says the new visiting hour is 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm from Monday to Sunday.

It further adds that only one visitor will be allowed to visit each patient during the stated visiting hour.

The Ministry says restrictions to visiting the intensive care unit for children and adults, and the designated Measles Isolation wards will be in place.

The changes come into effect from today.
