“In my opinion, the ministry of health staff, they put their lives in the line every day, maybe not in the battle of bullets and bombs but they put their lives on the line every day because there is a lot of risks involved in being a health official or working on the health services, as you know when someone comes in with a very severe communicable disease they are also at risk.”

He adds Fijians should recognize and appreciate the work done by doctors, nurses, health inspectors even ward assistants in various hospitals in ensuring that better health services are provided to those that need it.

He adds he will work closely with all health officials to know what they go through on the ground.

The minister says the improvement of infrastructure is also a major focus.
