Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete

The new Health Centre which will be constructed near Black Rock Camp in Votualevu, Nadi will also be a training facility for Health Officials.

Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says the Ministry has been working closely with the Defence Ministry and the new facility will enhance that commitment.

Waqainabete says the facility is owned by the Defence Ministry and it will prepare Health Official for disaster and also for those who goes on tour with the military.

“The roles that we play, not only providing health facility in the Votualevu area but also the training for our staff so that they are ready for deployment in disaster and also deployment embedded into the military team when they go offshore”

He says that the Health Center will serve as a multipurpose facility.
