Medical Coordinator Dr. Krupali Tappoo confirms eight were borderline cases of Rheumatic Heart Disease which will need to be followed up in the next 6 months.

She adds three children identified with Rheumatic Heart Disease will require 4 weekly benzathine penicillin injections at their nearest nursing station and they will be followed up at the CWM hospital.

Dr. Krupali confirmed that the child with the Congenital Heart Defect will be screened and if needed, operated on by the visiting international team of Surgeons, Doctors and Medical Professionals from India in April.

More than 60 doctors, health professionals, and volunteers were part of the camp last week providing a range of medical specialties to the villagers in Tailevu.
