Driso says breast cancer and lung cancer is also on the rise.

She says the new cases for February indicates that Fijians in their late 40s and early 60s are being diagnosed with the disease.

The Society adds that the recent statistics indicate that people are still presenting themselves late to hospitals after all avenues have been exhausted.

Meanwhile, last year, the cancer society recorded 250 cases – 88 were breast cancer, 23 cervical, seven ovarian and four prostate cancer.
29 people lost their battle of the deadly disease.
