96 new cancer cases recorded in the past 6 months

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is steadily increasing and many cases still go unreported.

The Fiji Cancer Society confirms that they’ve recorded 96 new cancer cases in the past 6 months.

President Makrava Wilson says the increasing number of these cases is a concern.

“96 new cases that we have just received for cancer in the adults. That is an alarming rate and we understand that the number increases.”

He says Fiji is progressing well in treating all forms of cancer, but it’s important for people to get regular checkups.
