Twelve families in Waidracia village, Naitasiri recently benefited from the Government’s assistance to acquire water seal toilets.

This comes after the discovery of several typhoid cases in the village.

Health Minister Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says the completion of the project is a milestone achievement in raising the sanitation standard of the village.

Dr Waqainabete says it’s also anticipated to significantly reduce the transmission of communicable diseases.

He thanked the villagers for working collaboratively in the construction of the new toilets.

He also acknowledges the support of the Naitasiri Provincial Office and Administrator in assisting the Ministry to combat the spread of typhoid fever.

One of the beneficiaries, Jiuta Ranubu says he’s happy that he was one of the recipients of the initiative and is thankful to the Ministry.
