Minister for Health Rosy Akbar has directed all senior health officials and managers to ensure that all staff are paid on time.

With numerous complaints being brought to her attention, Akbar has told senior managers to look into the issue.

Speaking to senior managers of the Health Ministry this morning, Akbar highlighted concerns being raised by health workers of not being paid accordingly.

“I can’t have staff calling me and saying that I haven’t been paid my maritime allowance and I have not been paid my overtime allowance and all those allowance that they were supposed to be paid so call centre managers make sure that these does not become a common issue and everybody needs to be treated fairly.”

Akbar says the issue should not happen again and senior officials should look into the matter as workers welfare is paramount.
