Health worker abuse hikes in remote areas

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has received numerous complaints on the abuse of health workers around the country.

Minister for Health, Rosy Akbar, says this incident is common in their facilities in the rural and remote areas.

She says if anyone abuses health professionals, they should be ashamed and face a serious criticism from everyone around the community

“As an employer, we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to the public physically abusing or verbally abusing our staff where in a workplace or after hours living in a government quarters in a rural and remote locations.”

Akbar is calling on these communities to work with health workers for their benefit.
