More work is needed on the ground to get the real picture of the health of people around us says Health Minister, Dr Neil Sharma.

Sharma returned from a weeklong tour of the Lau Group this morning with his team who provided clinical intervention to the people from the different islands in Lau.

Sharma says they need to go out more to get the real picture of what the work being carried out by Health officials.

" I think it’s the beginning of involving the officials and the donor agencies in taking the issues to the people and getting to know what they face to access the basic health necessities. Sometimes the information you get in the office is different to what actually goes on the ground."

A report is expected to be compiled by towards the end of next week after the tour.
