Health Ministry to assist in training more first aid providers

The Health Ministry will continue to support the Saint John Organization in the services they provide for all Fijians.

Minister responsible, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says the volunteers and the full time staff always serve people without discrimination – which is applaudable.

Dr. Waqainabete says the ministry has already donated a few ambulances to the organization and will extend aid in the field of getting more trained first aid providers.

Given the challenges that the organization faces, as the minister responsible I will continue to pursue every need in every way possible to assist the organization and work closely with Saint John.”

Meanwhile, Saint John’s executive chairman, Dr Vereniki Raiwalui says they’re looking forward to working with the ministry in different sectors.

He says they plan to train more Fijians on basic first aid treatment.
