Health Ministry teams in flood affected areas

December 27, 2016 5:30 pm

Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar says that people from her ministry have been deployed to flood affected areas to ensure there is no out break of diseases after the flooding.

She says they will be working closely with the National Disaster Management Office to clear debris and help people get back on track with their lives.

“Our teams have been out on the grounds with the DISMAC operations team and we have visited evacuation centres but not all because that’s an ongoing process and the plans are in place once the debris is cleared then we will start our campaign to ensure we avoid out breaks of any sort of diseases. At the moment we haven’t had any reports of any outbreak of disease on the ground level but the team on the ground is monitoring the situation.”
