July 1, 2018 1:04 am

In an effort to provide people in need of wheel chairs, the Health Ministry will be working together with the Charitable Organisation – Fiji Wheel Chairs.

This comes after Health Minister, Rosy Akbar met with founder of the organisation, Chetan Singh Heyer along with Himmat Lodhia of Lords Jewellers to discuss the areas of collaboration.

The organisation says this partnership will also help provide more wheel chairs for hospitals around the country.

Heyer says in June this year, a total of 110 new wheel chairs were received which have been distributed through the rotary and lions club.

He says these two clubs identify recipients in need of wheel chairs, especially those who cannot afford one.

According to Heyer this was the fifth shipment of wheel chairs since they started the shipment to Fiji in 2012.

The shipment is worth around $40,000.
The Health Minister encouraged such partnerships as it has a positive impact for the communities.
