Health Ministry monitors typhoid cases in North

The Northern Division Outbreak Response Team is working promptly to address the typhoid cases recorded in the Northern Division.

The Ministry of Health says there were 7 confirmed cases in Natua in Savusavu which has been treated.

The Sub divisional Outbreak Response Team is currently carrying out their intervention including outreach awareness programs on preventative measures for communicable diseases, hand hygiene and sanitation, mass vaccination of the Natua villagers.

The Ministry also confirms four cases were recorded in September last year in Naiqaqi village and these cases were attended to by the response team by active case finding and follow up, health education awareness, spraying activities, and
immunization.

The Ministry continues to closely monitor typhoid cases and is committed on providing the necessary treatment and support required.
