Health Minister inspects damaged facilities

Health Minister Jone Usamate says they will ensure health services continue as immediate steps are taken to fix damaged facilities.

Usamate continues his visit to health facilities post Cyclone Winston to see firsthand damages sustained.

The Waimaro Nursing station is badly damaged while a portion of the nurse’s quarter’s roof is destroyed.

The station nurse is operating temporarily from quarters.

Waimaro nursing station provides services to around 2000 people.

Usamate says to ensure continuity of health services, tents will be used.

He says this will also apply to Nanukuloa Health Centre that has also sustained damages.
