Health Inspectors generate approximately $5.5M

Health Inspectors under the Ministry of Health generate approximately $5.5 million through consolidated accounts.

This was revealed by the Head of Budget for the Ministry of Economy Isoa Talemaibua during the Local Government Ministry symposium.

“They use to collect that much from health licenses, quarantine fees, tobacco fees, building EIAS funds. The key areas for rural health inspectors, consultations, legal enforcement, licensing and permits, international quarantine, vector control, administration and other special works.”

The budget allocation for the Authority was increased by $30,000 this year to help enhance its services.
