In an effort to improve services to Fijians in the Northern Divison, the Health Ministry will continue with infrastructural refurbishment for health facilities

This was highlighted by Assistant Health Minister, Alex O’Connor as he continues his weeklong visitations to twenty-five health centres and nursing stations in the North this week.

It was observed that while some renovation works have been completed, others are nearing completion before the end of the fiscal year.

He says the ministry continues to monitor its renovation work to ensure that anticipated maintenance work is achieved within the set timelines.

Some of the refurbishment undertaken includes maintenance work in progress for the health centres and staff quarters.

He adds this will boost the health care services for both the staff and the patients.

While meeting with the Northern health staff, O’Connor thanked them for their dedication to their roles in providing health services for rural and maritime areas.

The visitation motivated health staff and they had the opportunity to also discuss the challenges they faced and way forward to improving the health services.
