Health centres soon to operate on 24-hour basis

Health centres around the country will soon provide twenty-four hour service to the public.

Minister for Health and Medical services, Rosy Akbar says with the recruitment of additional nurses and doctors – this will allow for a greater range of services to be made available.

“Recruitment of additional staff means we will be able to offer extended opening hours in some of our busiest health centres beginning with the health centre in Valelevu which is set to start operating on a twenty-four hour basis before the end of this year.”

Akbar also told parliament today, they have allocated four million dollars to renovate urban health centres and hospitals.

The Ministry received a sum of three hundred and twenty-one point two million dollars in the 2017/2018 national budget.
