The Health Ministry projects the health care professional workforce needs to grow by at least 20 percent over the next few years.

He says the major challenge for the sector has been migration.

“Globalization has severely impacted our supply of skilled health care workers. The continuous migration of our people, which thankfully has declined recently to the neighboring countries, has put a significant stress on our man power supply and we have to continue with this experience.”

Usamate confirmed that the ministry will get 84 qualified nurses and 10 qualified midwives from TISI Sangam nursing college this year.
