High Court Judge, Justice Riyaz Hamza will deliver his judgement today on the rape trial of a 31-year-old man who allegedly raped his wife with an eggplant.

The three assessors returned with a mixed opinion after their deliberation yesterday.

Two of the assessors found the accused not guilty with the first count of rape but found him guilty with the other three counts of rape.

While one assessor found the accused not guilty with two counts of rape and found him guilty with the other two counts of rape.

The man is charged with four counts of rape.

The alleged incident occurred between 30th November 2015 and 5th January 2016.
