Habitat for Humanity Fiji to assist people in Kadavu

As part of its disaster response work following Tropical Cyclone Keni, Habitat for Humanity Fiji will be providing emergency shelter and tool kits to those affected in Kadavu.

Two teams will be distributing the supplies in the areas affected.

Project Manager Michael Hill says the non-profit organisation has the capability and skills to deliver emergency shelter assistance to the families.

He adds that an assessment carried out their team reveals that shelter is a high priority and an urgent need for affected families.

Hill says the biggest challenge is to get to the communities as the only access available is via boats.

Relief efforts will also include assisting families get back on feet by cleaning of homes and clearing of debris for better access.
