The Health and Medical Serives Ministry is committed to addressing issues of violence against women and girls.
Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar says gender based violence is a basic life challenge in many countries and Fiji’s no exception.
“The move to ever first develop Fijis medical guideline in responding to partner violence and sexual violence on children is not just a challenge but an important one.”
The Ministry says the guidelines are user friendly and appropriate in ensuring everyone faced with violence in Fiji is able to get it addressed adequately and holistically.
16 days of activism for violence against women in Fiji has been recognised and the Ministry is expected to launch towards the end of 16 days.
