Green Oak Management to be taken to Court

The Employment Ministry is now considering to take the management of Green Oak Fiji to court.

This has been confirmed to FBC News by the Permanent Secretary SalaseiniDaunabuna who says they are currently investigating the matter within the ambit of the Employment Relations Act 2007.

Daunabuna says the Ministry has contacted the employer and served them with a claim for the dues owed to the 30 workers.

However, she says the company has disputed the amount.

Daunabuna adds the next step now is to pursue this matter in court.
30 workers of Green Oak Fiji have not been paid their wages for at least 4 months now.

The Ukrainian Joinery Company has been operating in Votualevu, Nadi for at least four years.
