Green Oak employees receive partial pay

The more than twenty-five Green Oak Fiji workers have finally received some of the wages owed to them by the company.

Employee Manoj Kumar confirms that last week they received part of their pay through the Ministry of Labour who had intervened.

Kumar says he was paid around $400.

However, Kumar says they did not receive any pay slip or formal record regarding the pay they had received.

He says they are now awaiting the full wages that is still owed to them.
The workers had stated that for at least 4 months, Green Oak Fiji did not pay them a single cent.

The matter is also being looked at by the Ministry of Labour.

Green Oak Fiji, a Ukrainian joinery company has been based in Votualevu Nadi for a few years.
