Grace Road businesses open despite Founder's arrest

Grace Road Group of companies continue to operate in Fiji unaffected, even with its founder Shin Ok-ju being charged and arrested last week.

With over 40 shops and restaurants in Suva, Savusavu, Nadi and Lautoka, the Grace Road ventures are evident across the country.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirms that while the Grace Road group has acquired a number of government contracts, its business as usual.

“We have not had any repercussions of any of the projects that they’re currently undertaking in the same that the shops are all running, all the patisseries and food outlets, they’re all running.”

Meanwhile according to Korean media reports, the Church founder has been charged with alleged assault, confinement and exploitation of foreign currency among other charges.
