November 24, 2017 7:00 pm

Suva’s Grand Pacific Hotel has started a new tradition to mark the beginning of the Christmas season.

A twenty-two feet Christmas tree was lit up in the hotel’s main lobby that will be used to collect gifts.

The gifts will then be gifted to the children at St. Christopher’s home in Nakasi.

GPH General Manager Peter Gee says this initiative will ensure they are part of the community and giving back to the future of the country.

“Not just with the children but throughout Suva and this is very important because GPH has been a part of Suva for more than 100 years and what we’re doing tonight is starting a new tradition and this is something that will go on for a very long time. GPH has always been part of the community and we want to give back to the community.”

The experience is one to remember as the entire lobby space will be recreated just as it was in the early 1900’s.
