The unveiling of Government’s five year development plan has been delayed.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama had announced in November last year, the plan would be revealed at the first quarter of this year.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says in the next couple of weeks, government will be calling for submissions from the public on what they think should be included in the development plan.

“We hope to have that finalized later on. We had given an earlier indication to have it completed by March, but obviously it’s a much bigger task than that. In the next couple of days you will find some advertisements going out calling for public submissions. A team from Finance will be going around the country getting people’s views on development, what kind of development we want.”

The Attorney General says the five year plan will not only benefit Fijians – but also investors.

The five year development plan will outline the focus of the Fiji government and where aid needs to be channelled.
