Minister for Industry and Trade Premila Kumar

Strengthening existing initiatives in the areas of climate change and sustainable livelihood will be an area of focus for the government in years to come.

With Fiji taking the lead role in the fight against climate change globally, Minister for Industry and Trade Premila Kumar says it’s important for the younger generation to be informed about issues that concern their future.

“In the coming years, the Fijian government will continue strengthening initiatives for training, empowerment and awareness of our youth. This initiative will be in the areas of entrepreneurship, leadership, climate change and sustainable livelihoods.”

In accordance with the government’s vision for a bright and smart Fiji, Kumar says it’s critical that education, employment and leadership opportunities are provided to young Fijians.
