Government to re-asses Civil Service positions

The government will re-assess certain positions within the civil service which have been in existence since the 1970s.

This was confirmed by the Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while speaking at the ACP/EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.

Sayed-Khaiyum says that the government is currently working with the World Bank to restructure the Civil Service.

“So not just modernize the Civil Service there are some position which are there from the 70’s when we did not have computers, so that are some of the work in progress”.

Meanwhile, the Public Service Commission says that they will focus on helping the government to bring in the right people for the civil service.
