Government to invest $8m for schools nationwide

Government, through the Ministry of Education, has this year invested close to eight million dollars on the maintenance and repair works for schools around the country.

Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy highlighted this yesterday at the opening of a teacher’s quarters at Veivatuloa Village School in Navua.

The teacher’s quarters was built at a cost of $40,000 through funding from the Education Ministry.

Dr Reddy says infrastructure upgrade in Fijian schools was part of Government’s efforts to improve the teaching and learning environment for teachers and students.

Veivatuloa Village School has a roll of 69 students and accommodates children from Wainubu Settlement and Lobau Village.
