Government is working on improving its response to future floods says Permanent Secretary for Disaster Management Col Inia Seruiratu.
Seruiratu told FBC News a Task Force has been endorsed by the Cabinet which is working on it.
Seruiratu says lessons have been learned from the recent floods in the Western Division.
He says the Task Force is looking at ways to improve resources and place systems to better manage and reduce risk.
“Definitely Government is looking at those and hopefully it will be given funds accordingly based on the work of the Task Force so that we can better equip for future disaster.”
