A multi-sectoral team of 50 Government officials arrived on the island of Rotuma for a 3-day deployment yesterday.
Leading the team to Rotuma, Commissioner Eastern Luke Moroivalu said the purpose of the visit was to attend a special sitting of the Rotuma Island Council, discuss important government issues and monitor the progress of the major government-funded infrastructural projects.
The officials will also conduct monitoring and relevant work in their various sectors.

The Commissioner Eastern indicated that the major infrastructure projects currently underway in Rotuma include the construction of the new Rotuma Hospital, the upgrading of the Rotuma Airstrip, and the upgrading of the roads.
