The government supports the Ministry of Health in helping all Fijians live a healthy life.
The Minister for Health and Medical Services, Jone Usamate in supporting the budget in parliament today, says the 2016/2017 National Budget shows the government pays a lot of attention to Health and Medical Service.
“For me as the Minister for Health is something i really appreciate is its emphasis on Human resources, this year there will be a focus on our doctors, this year we will be looking at at least increasing their salaries by between 56 to 81 percent, because they are very important component.”
Usamate responded to some speeches in parliament today saying that the Health Budget has not gone down.
He adds the problem of retaining our doctors will now be solved as increased doctor salaries are part of the Social Services reform.
Usamate added the Ministry of Health and Medical Services fully supports the 2016/2017 National Budget.
