Government starts work on village by-laws

Government has already started one of their major project which is the introduction of village by-laws.

The project was approved by Cabinet to start this year and be completed in 2015 and has started in the province of Bua.

Permanent Secretary for iTaukei affairs Savenaca Kaunisela says they have to consider other factors while deciding on the new boundary.

“The by-laws will determine the rules that govern the villages as well as us taking into consideration the effects of climate change and what effect it has on a village.”

The government is adamant, village boundaries will decide the fate of future generations.
