More than sixty government officials left for the Southern Lau group today to assess damages caused by Cyclone Gita earlier this week.
The seven day tour will also include food ration distribution as well as other assistance to the people of Ono-I-Lau and Vatoa.
Divisional Planning Officer Eastern Viliame Kainabia says government officials have also been tasked to hold talanoa sessions with affected villagers.

The distribution of food rations and other assistance is expected to begin on Wednesday.
