September 12, 2012 5:10 am

In an effort to get jobs for unemployed graduates, the government is now looking off shore in areas of mining in Papua New Guinea and other employment sectors in Australia and New Zealand.

Minisiter for Labour Jone Usamate is also appealing to employers to contact the Ministry if they wish to have job seekers attached to their companies for training.

Usamate told FBC News today the Ministry has a list of degree and diploma holders who are seeking employment.

He says by being attached they may be able to find jobs.

The Minister says although his Ministry is doing all it can to help the unemployment situation in the country, he feels the private sector can do more.

Usamate has encouraged parents to see that their children are educated.
He says when employment becomes available, only the educated will be taken.
