The government is investing heavily in the national infrastructure as part of its determination to grow the economy.
Minister for Transport Parveen Kumar says from the 2017/2018 National budget, the government has allocated five hundred twenty seven point five million dollars to Fiji Roads Authority to improve he country’s infrastructure including roads and bridges.
He says improvement in infrastructure will lead to a safe and reliable transportation system.
“This is the end of the decades of the neglect in the proper maintenance of our roads with the biggest investment ever made in Fiji’s infrastructure, ladies and gentlemen this is a genuine commitment by your government.”
Kumar says the government will come down hard on those who damage infrastructure.
