Government hands over wood carving machines

The Government will do whatever it takes to rejuvenate the wood carving business.

Forestry Minister Osea Naiqamu made this commitment while handing over Wood Carving Machines in Nasinu today.

Naiqamu says the successful applicants will take wood carving into the formal business platform.

‘’The purpose of this scheme is to drive the wood carving business in Fiji from an informal platform in which it operates at this moment to a formal business platform that will enable it to move even further in contributing to Fiji’s Socio economic development’’.

Forty six thousand dollars was spent for specialized value adding machines handed over to 7 recipients.

Naiqamu adds they will continue to improve the quality and finishing of Wood Carving products.
