A man alleged to be a driver of a Senior Government Official has been charged and expected to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.

It is alleged the man who was driving a private car, was under the influence of alcohol, and refused to go through the breathalyser test at McGregor Road in Suva yesterday morning.

It’s also alleged that he also assaulted two police officers and then fled the scene.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirms he has been charged and is in custody.
